SEO in Northwich
Northwich is well known as a wich town which is based in Cheshire England. In Roman times Northwich was known as Candate, but eventually gained its name Northwich. The fort which was built by the Roman's, is thought to have been built due to the issue of crossing the river to the weaver.
Salt was very important in the Roman society of Northwich. It is said to be that Roman's used salt several different ways to extract the salt from the brine. In 1806 the town was still producing salt, but for some reason declined and was not re-discovered until 1670. During the 19th century it became uneconomical to mine for salt and they therefore used hot water instead to pumped into the mines, to therefore dissolve the salt.
In 2004 a large amount of money was used to stabilise the abandoned salt mines which were situated underneath Northwich village. Therefore, due to this salt is still a popular establishment and is still to this day what Northwich is known for.
